This short course will explore the connection between yoga and recovery from addiction.

The breath; just as we practice one day at a time in recovery, in a yoga practice we use one breath at a time to help us stay in the here and now. We come to understand that “steady breath, steady mind” is a powerful tool for recovery.

The body; in recovery, we learn to have healthy habits helping us to restore and rebuild our bodies. Yoga approaches physical health and changes in a gentle, individual way.

The spirit; in recovery we come to know that we can have a gentle open heart, living in peace with ourselves and others. Yoga provides the place and the quiet for us to be in peace, one breath at a time.
