Wintering Retreat: Yoga, Meditation, & Rest

Embrace the Gift of Wintering

Pressed by the habitual pace of life, we can miss the experience that rest provides, mistaking "collapsing" for "resting." This retreat creates time and space for a conscious pause to restore body, mind, and spirit in harmony with the quiet of winter.

TriYoga of Central Pennsylvania's Founding Director Theresa Shay leads this retreat suitable for all levels of practitioners, including those new to yoga. Theresa, a regular presenter at Light on the Hill, brings 30+ years of studying and teaching yoga to guide you into the deeper, subtler aspects of your being through slow yoga, deep breathing, and peaceful meditation.

Program

In support of caring community, experience a soothing rhythm of:

  • Slow, quiet yoga: TriYoga Therapeutics focuses on deep, sustained postures supported by props, combined with gentle, nurturing sequences of movement to allow the release of tension for all types of bodies

  • Extended deep relaxation:  let go into the stillness and connect with the life-energy that sustains you below the surface

  • Breathing, concentration & meditation: TriYoga's subtle practices of Prana Vidya systematically calm the mind, increase energy, and expand consciousness

  • Time and space:  rest, journal, read, knit, draw, sit, walk, pray, contemplate, nap, walk the labyrinth...embrace what feeds your soul

  • Cozy moments in your private room (with shared bath) offer space for your journey; limited double rooms are available for those who wish to room together - please inquire

  • 100% nourishing, seasonally-appropriate, plant-based/vegan meals, organic where possible, are cooked with love by the Light on the Hill kitchen team. Light on the Hill is a dedicated vegetarian facility offering gluten-free options for participants who request it.
